Trilogy Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm

The blog has been a little bit neglected over the last two weeks thanks to exams, but I've finally got a bit of time this afternoon to give it a bit more attention, before getting back to the books later! I have only ever used makeup wipes or micellar water to remove my makeup before so the Trilogy Makeup-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm* is the first product of this kind I have ever tried out. Read on to find out what I thought!

The balm contains Mango Seed Butter, Coconut Oil, and Certified Organic Rosehip Oil. I have used the Trilogy Rosehip oil before and liked how moisturizing it was, so that's a bonus.

So as you can tell from the name, the product is a thick balm. You take a little bit and massage it in all over your face, or where you're wearing makeup and then rinse it off with warm water (the balm also comes with an organic cotton cloth that you can use to rinse it off).  I was super surprised by how easily it melted my makeup away. I wear Revlon Colorstay foundation, and if you've ever used that before you'll know it has great staying power but is a bit of a mission to get off. Normally I'll go through two makeup wipes and it'll take a bit of scrubbing to remove it. This literally just melted it off.

To really put it to the test, after I rinsed the balm off, I also used a makeup wipe to see if any excess makeup was left behind. My makeup wipe came back almost totally clean, just with a few traces of mascara.

Being able to take my makeup off, without being left with a red face from scrubbing is such a nice change. If you wear long-wearing or waterproof makeup and need something to remove it gently, give this a go!

RRP: $39.99. Trilogy products can be found at selected Farmers stores, pharmacies, department and health stores nationwide.

  1. I love Trilogy makeup removal balm! Leaves my skin feeling so nice, not dried out and gross like it does after using makeup wipes. better for the environment too.

    1. Exactly! And good point - I didn't think of the environmental benefits!

  2. Love using oil to remove my makeup because my skin is super sensitive, but I love how this is in a balm form so I imagine it would be easier to work with when trying to get it from hands to face hehe.
