Pre-Ageing Skin Care In Your 20's And 30's

I'm always down for trying something that will help slow down the appearance of ageing, so the new ANEW Retroactive Youth Extending range from Avon definitely appealed to me! The range is ideal for women in their 20's and 30's and helps to repair microdamage (damage which is invisible to the naked eye, but which eventually causes lines and wrinkles). I've been using the 4 piece range for approximately a month now, keep reading to find out what I thought.

ANEW Retroactive Youth Extending Cleanser, $15.00*: The formula of this reminds me of conditioner - it has that same kind of shiny, thick texture. You don't need a lot because it does foam up a bit. Initially, it did make my skin sting a little bit, but I've kept using it (the stinging didn't last long and didn't cause any visible effect), and it no longer stings. I think my skin is just a bit sensitive and takes awhile to adjust to new things sometimes. The same thing happened when I first started using MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, which my skin is also fine with now.

Surprisingly, this actually helped keep my skin clear too. I don't think I've had a single breakout since I've been using it. Since it is targeted at anti-ageing and not acne, I wasn't expecting it to help with that too, but that's a great additional benefit!

ANEW Retroactive Youth Extending Day Cream, $27.00*: The first thing I noticed about this product was how luxurious the packaging looked and felt. The packaging definitely feels high-end, yet is so affordable! I really like it. It provides the right amount of hydration, doesn't feel heavy or greasy, and my makeup sits on it nicely and doesn't slide around. It also has SPF 15 in it.

ANEW Retroactive Youth Extending Night Cream, $27.00*: This one is in almost identical packaging to the day cream, except the colour on the outside is a more ombre green/blue and silver colour, so you can easily tell it apart from the day cream without having to read the label. The texture and consistency seem to be the same as the day cream. The only difference I can detect between this and the day cream is that there is no SPF in it because obviously, you're not going to need it at night, so you don't want an extra ingredient on your skin unnecessarily.

ANEW Retroactive Youth Extending Eye Gel, $18.00*: This is quite a nice thin gel, that you only need the tiniest bit of. It soaks in really quickly, and I have no problem putting concealer on afterwards (I have found some thicker eye creams can cause my concealer to crease and keep moving around when I try to apply it). It leaves my under eye area feeling hydrated, and long term, I have a good feeling that it's going to help keep those fine lines away!

Overall thoughts on the range: I have really enjoyed using this range, and how it has made my skin look and feel. It has really felt like I've been using high-end products, but without the high-end price tag. As mentioned, the only issue I had was the slight stinging from the cleanser, but since that didn't continue, I do think that it was because my skin is a bit sensitive, and was just adjusting to it. I would definitely continue to use the range, and if you're in your 20's or 30's, I would recommend you give it a go too!
