What To Watch - New Movies This Month! May '17

I'm a huge movie fan, so it makes sense that now I'm expanding the blog into more lifestyle related content as well as beauty (of course), to include movie content! You might have seen me post the odd movie review in the past, which is now going to become a regular thing. Over the past few weeks, I have gone along to a few movie screenings (thanks 20th Century Fox NZ!), and I've got a run down of each one here for you. Keep reading to work out which movie you're going to see next!

The first movie on my list is Table 19 (out now)! With the backdrop of a wedding, Anna Kendrick is the star of this movie and plays Eloise who is the best friend of the bride. The problem lies with the fact that she used to date the best man, and to avoid him ends up at a table of misfits who all have their own little story as to how they ended up there. It's funny, it's sad and is a great relatively lighthearted movie with lots of different characters and personalities to keep things interesting - and things didn't turn out the way I thought they would! I really enjoyed it and it was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. It would be a perfect girls night out movie!

If a bit of gore and something to keep you on the edge of your seat is what you're after, Alien: Covenant (out now) is for you. I've seen Alien v Predator before, but never any of the Alien movies (how?!) so I didn't really know what to expect, but it was definitely a whole lot more gruesome than I imagined! The crew of the Covenant ship are on the way to a new planet with their 2000 colonists, when they are unexpectedly woken from their hibernation pods, in an event that ends with the Captain dying (played by James Franco, who had a surprisingly tiny role for a big actor!).  While the crew are doing repairs and recovering from the incident, they discover a transmission leading them to a new planet, much closer than their planned destination, which they decide to go and explore. The terror unfolds after they reach this new seemingly perfect planet and come across the unfriendly inhabitants.  It was definitely suspenseful and had a few jump scares, so watch out! P.S you don't need to have seen the other Alien movies for the story to make sense.

I knew I was going to love Snatched before I saw it since I am a huge Amy Schumer fan (I loved Trainwreck and her stand up!). The story starts with a breakup and follows Emily (Amy Schumer) and her mother Linda (Goldie Hawn) as they go on what was meant to be a couples getaway to South America. Linda would have happily spent the holiday at the hotel with a book, but Emily's carefree lust for adventure leads them on a crazy journey filled with hilariously rude jokes, and awkward moments as they dig their way out of trouble. I was thoroughly entertained the whole time, and would definitely see it again. If you're a fan of Amy Schumers brand of blunt x-rated humour, you'll love it too!

Which movie/s are you going to see? Are you more of a sci-fi fan, or into comedy and chick flicks? Let me know!
