Movie Review | Halloween (No Spoilers)

If you love Halloween like me (the holiday, not the movie - although that too), you'll be just as excited that this has come out just in time. I haven't seen the previous Halloween movies, but as with a lot of sequels, you really don't need to have, to enjoy this. Although, already knowing the characters and the story would no doubt make for a richer experience.

Michael Myers is back and ruthless as ever. He may have had a few more birthdays, but that hasn't slowed him down. Laurie Strode is also back after a few years of being tucked away quietly plotting her revenge. It all comes to a head when they finally come face to face again.

As with just about all horror movies, you're going to have to look past the villain's seemly supernatural ability to keep bouncing back, hit after hit (but does he at the end? You'll have to see for yourself). But with that aside, it had all the suspense, gore, and WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT, moments you'd expect. And no spoilers, but let me just say, if ever you've got a psychopath trying to break into your house to murder you, I do not recommend resting your head against a glass paneled door. You'd think that goes without saying. Not the case.

My favorite element of the movie was unexpected. The little boy being babysat delivered a few pretty funny lines (that actually managed to elicit an AUDIBLE laugh from me). I really like when horror movies throw in a bit of humor here and there for us comedy lovers. The movie "IT" did that really well too.

So bottom line, if you're after a good horror movie this Halloween, you're sorted.
